Goodbye, Chair

The time has come to say goodbye. 

I have nursed both babies in this chair. 

It has been drawn on with permanent marker. 

Many tears shed and stories read in its cushy seat. 

The foam pieces have been pulled out with little hands through a small rip and scattered all over the floor and picked up to stuff back in again. 

Well worn. Well loved. 

Goodbye old chair. You found a new home today with a random stranger who knocked to make sure you were free for the taking. So long.  

There is a new seat in the boys' room to take it's place. One loaned by Israel after moving into his new digs. 

This little man already tried to draw on it with crayon last night. *sigh* Big brother has taught him it's ok to decorate the furniture. It scrubbed out. 

"Blah blah blah..."

 I have been wanting an orange chair for a terribly long time. 

It has a lovely rocking motion, and the boys are playing all over it today. It's a good thing we don't ever buy new furniture, because children put them through their paces and I seem unable to protect our inanimates. 

Hello, new friend. Many happy times ahead. 

Cabin Weekend

So this weekend we drove out towards Lake Lure to a cabin, for a weekend with Aaron's boss and coworkers. The boys had a blast, and it was such a beautiful drive and view! The colors were still in peak there.

Here is the boys' buddy Terry. He left for a bit one day, and Leon kept asking, "Where did the strong guy go?" 

In love with this pillow. I think it used to be a thin wool rug. 

I think Leon is going to ask Santa for a pair of binoculars for Christmas. They have been an obsession for quite some time. 

This fireplace was amazing. There was another downstairs as well. The guys kept them lit, so it was very cosy. 

Lots of ping pong. Boss man usually wins, but Aaron was finally victorious.

Some kind people bought candy for the boys. *grimace* 

This is boss man Dan. He was trying to make the boys laugh, heh. 

Lovin' it. Also, I did not know that ring pops could last a whole afternoon. 

Silas was so exhausted he fell asleep watching the end credits of a movie. 

I think this is a 30 second exposure Aaron took or the mountain ridge and stars. It's weird how many different colors there are...if you click on it full size you can see them better. 

So pretty. It was lovely to get away.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

We decided to go fly the kite at Steele Creek right after work. It hasn't seen much sky this summer, so we're trying to make up for it. It's so big - makes it hard to get up high enough to fly a while. Today we met with success! 

I think Lucy and I are eye twins.

Leon caught it when it came down, with his eyes closed. jk
