We hauled ourselves out of bed before 5 on Saturday, and managed to finish loading and depart about 5:30 am. The painful awakening more than makes up for the peaceful ride for the first few hours.

This is a welcome sight - hitting Jacksonville means only 2 1/2 hours left!!

Those ding-dang tolls. I think we had to pay about $2.75 one way on the 'ole 408.
429 means we're almost on the home turf. It drives right alongside the old grove property, now covered with an assortment of box stores. *sigh* Here's the entrance if you want to see the sign. Here's an aerial with 429 running parellel across the top. It's crazy to think that just a few years ago this was peaceful orange grove and hay field. (Ok, more than a few. Approximately 5 years have passed.)
And here's the new home gate! All decked out and pretty for the holidays. It is such a great feeling to pull up here after driving for 10 1/2 hours and be welcomed with open arms by Grammy and Pawpaw. The boys really made things easy on us this time. Yeah, for a week in FL!!
