Breakfast

So for breakfast we had some of the last good tomatoes of the season with cream cheese on english muffin. It's reaaaaaaally good.

Then we broke in the new-to-us juicer, which the boys were very excited about. Nothing quite like a loud machine that you get to feed vegetables into to create a frenzy.

Leon thought it was pretty yummy.

Carrots and kale made for an interesting color.

Fresh garden kale...yumm.

The pulp was pretty dry but I don't think the juicer likes greens very well. We'll see how it does next time. I need to get some celery and green apples. They make yummy additions.

Also, what can you do with 8 little key limes? They started dropping off my little tree, so I guess that means they're ripe. Yeah! Somehow I didn't kill it this year.

Trip Home

Before I forget I wanted to write about two funny stories from the trip back.

We left rather late after a nice breakfast and packing, so we knew it would be a long day. The kids were restless little troopers, and we drove, and drove, and drove.

Somewhere along the way Leon got fed up and said," This is NOT VERY FUN! I don't want to drive to Grammy's house ever again!"

He changed his mind after a week or so of being home, and occasionally when we get in the car even Silas will talk about driving to Grammy's house.

The best story happened somewhere longabouts Georgia, I think? Leon had been awake while Silas slept, and I gave him a cream filled cookie. He proceeded to lick out the cream, and then laid the two cookie parts down in the middle of the console between them. Then he fell asleep.

Silas woke up, looked around, and got excited when he saw those cookies just waiting for him. "I pind it! (To rhyme with find.)  I pind it Daddy! Mommy, I pind a cookie! (Then he proceeded to hold the cookie up to the window to show the man driving a passing car...) I pind it!!!"

Anyway, we died laughing. That's what a long day in the car does to you.

Thursday

Thursday we went out with Grammy and Pawpaw to the Gaylord Palms Resort, or whatever its called. They always have this ice exhibit that's fun to see, and a huge atrium that you could fit another hotel inside of. We spent a while just wandering around and looking at the critters.

The fish were fun....they would come up with gaping mouths and nibble on your fingers with rubbery lips. The boys worked up the courage to try a couple times.

More gators and turtles.

These are break ferns, from Hawaii I think? We've seen a few around here from time to time, I have a plant I'm trying to nurse back to health. So pretty, all the tropicals.

Larrrrrrge leaves.

After our little jaunt we had lunch at this amazing Mediterranean Buffet. The place was packed out with a group of 80 red-hatters, and other groups of 80 and 40. WIsh I had pics of the craziness in the buffet lines. I think Kathy and Aaron both got elbow checked by those ladies stampeding to the food. Anyway, it was one of the highlights of the trip, everything was so good and the desserts were to die for.

I didn't get any pictures of the ice exhibit because it was crazy trying to watch the boys and make sure they were warm enough in the 9' temps. Leon's coat didn't cover his hands, but he had handwarmers. However, after just a few minutes he was cold and ready to leave! I felt like I had to rush through everything...it was all I could do to slow him down. It didn't help that he saw the arcade beforehand, and wanted to go back and play on the motorcycles. Humph.

I have a few videos I'll try to get on Vimeo soon.
