Fall Festival, Asheville, Pizza Party

We went over to the Fall Festival at Exchange Place while Erek and Aaron worked on stuff at the farm. We were there almost all day and had such a fun time!

Open hearth cooking.

Craft with Sue making flower and leaf prints on muslin. You pound them with a hammer and they print on the fabric - which the boys loved.

Gotta keep that apple butter stirred! Everyone took turns.

The outhouse held a surprise.

Complete with mannikin...

...armed with a cob. Ahem!

They were so amused they went over to check on him every 5 minutes or so. I kid you not.

Wrestling and stirring kept them pretty busy, along with eating a huge bag of kettle corn.

See, back again!

Megan fired up the brick oven to make bread and some killer biscuits.

The boys got a chance to ride a horse!

When the apple butter was done they jarred it up and put the scrapings on these here biscuits. Yumm.

The next weekend we went over to Asheville so Aaron could run a 5K with friends at the airport.

Ready to go! They ran down the taxi strip and then all the way down the runway. It was pretty cool, and they made some great times!

The boys enjoyed seeing different airplanes and climbing in a helicopter.

For lunch we went to White Duck Taco. Mmmm. Bangkok shrimp and greek with lamb. So good. There are no words.

After we stopped in at the studio of Steve St Claire. He has come up with some new techniques, but I was taken with his landscapes. I want to paint like this!

It was a misty trip home, but it didn't serve to dampen the pizza party later that evening.

View from the outhouse.

I rolled out over 25 pizzas I think! So yummy and such fun hanging with friends. After we had a movie on the hill behind the oven - Ever After. Fun times.
