Well, we've started another house project stemming from the mantel being refinished. Aaron is going to build out the wall 4 inches to be flush with the edge of the mantel, which has stuck out from the wall ever since this house was built 111 yrs ago.
Of course he has to draw on the inside, dreaming of a day when someone will possibly come across it again.
We took down the valance boxes and removed everything for scraping and mudding. Fun fun. Megan and Erek invited us out to the farm, so that was the perfect chance to get out of his hair.
Ken dammed up the little creek in the Holler so it was just deep enough to get in and cool off. A little muddy, but with this heat, no one cared.
Watermelon is best eaten outdoors.
Ken, as the gracious host, made some drinks using this stuff from Ghana. It tasted like Sweet Tarts, but without the sweet.
The boys just had the best time running around, hollering and wrestling, of course.

There was some impressive grass-whistling going on.
Paul was most obliging to put up with our rowdy boys.
Silas has been wearing underwear a lot lately, due to getting a "magic pair" borrowed from Granmarmee. They have a superhero from the incredibles on them, and he insists on wearing only those. He decided he needed to poop, and loves the special toilets Megan and Erek have. They put this sawdust bucket composting toilet on the back porch when Gable potty trained a while back. No flies, no smell - promise. There's an outhouse out back a ways, looking out into the woods.
Sun ripened, home grown maters. We still aren't getting any yet, so some of these cut up for supper were a nice treat. They've been having trouble with rabbits biting them this year.
Erek is building a large brick oven, so he started mixing up some batches of cement. Somehow I missed taking a picture of the oven itself.
Amber made a lovely treat of mango lassis. We hadn't had them before - a huge hit.
