Major Project, Part I

At the beginning of the summer our friend Diane bought a nice little house over towards VA Middle.

Rebekah said she'd team up with me to get it fixed up and painted, and thus the work started.

Here are some before pictures. Ugh.

Here's the back bedroom. It was in pretty rough shape, lots of spotting and cracks.

And the mudding started.

Front bedroom.

The moulding had never been caulked, so that made a huge difference.

There was a lot of chipping paint too that had to be scraped and sanded.

Mrs. Crumley must have had a huge picture collection on this wall. It was full of holes.

We spent many days with dust everywhere.

Cracks in all the ceilings...

...below the windows...

...above the doors.

The master wasn't quite as bad. At least the walls were somewhat close to white!

The decor around the light fixture was something to behold. Mrs. Crumley sure liked her sculpture mod podge stuff. All around the light and window. We can't wait to get this primed.

Ready to paint, finally!

This was under the switchplate in the master - 30 years since a paint job, we figure!

We primed, and then primed some more. This is the hall, looking down towards the bedrooms.

After weeks of priming and painting white trim, we are ready for some color!!
