Whitetop in Spring

We took a trip to Whitetop Mountain this Spring, for Mothers' Day. 

It was beautiful, and a little colder than we thought it would be, of course. 

Leon loved to play this game on the trail: run ahead, find a hiding spot, then wait 

for the rest of us to meander along, and pop out and say, "Peek-a-boo!!!!!!"

It's like pulling teeth to get a family pic where everyone is happy and looking. *sigh* 

Silas was busy eating his apple. I can't remember if I asked him to make a funny face or what, 

but he cracked this crazy grin. I still laugh when I think about it. 

AT blaze. We met a few through hikers. 

Leon got tired and just laid down in the middle of the trail! He loves the drama. 

Here is the spring along the AT. Leon always like to get a drink there. 

Ah, beautiful view. I can't wait til next time.
